As I See It

Let’s not forget to play nice

They are two simple words that can be easily forgotten. Be kind. That reminder came from a post on Facebook from the La Crosse County Health Department, which points out the increase in posts and comments which are hostile and unkind. Of course, that department has been the subject of much vitriol itself. Even its Facebook post reminding people to be kind attracted hateful comments. Too many comments are filled with hate, finger-pointing and name calling. We really aren’t very good at playing nice in the sandbox these days. We are all living in difficult times, and under increased stress. But let’s remember, we should be fighting the virus, not fighting with each other. Perhaps that could be our mission for today. Try just a little harder to be kind to others. To show respect, even amid differences. Perhaps a random act of kindness, which can brighten someone else’s day, and make ourselves feel better at the same time. Kindness may not always be the first, or easiest response, but its almost always the best response. So I hope you have a great day, and can make it even better by brightening someone else’s day as well.
