After two-month low, La Crosse County adds 14 COVID-19 cases

After having the lowest case count since June 6 on Monday, La Crosse County added another 14 cases of COVID-19 Tuesday.

That brings the total to 925, including 41 county residents who have ever been hospitalized from the virus. Right now there are 153 active, including five hospitalizations.

So far in August, only three days have been in the single digits and the daily average for the month is 12.4 cases. In July,there were 14 single-digit days, and the cases-per-day average last month was 11.5.

In surrounding counties Trempealeau added nine cases and is now at 353 with 52 still active.

Winona County reported no new cases and remains at 264.

Monroe County added three cases and is now at 243 with 21 active, including one in the hospital.

Houston County added two cases and is now at 44.

Vernon County added one case and is now at 66 with five still active.


STATE TOTALS
Wisconsin: 61,785 cases, 5,092 hospitalizations, 1,006 deaths
Minnesota: 61,839 cases, 5,661 hospitalizations, 1,666 deaths
Iowa: 49,520 cases, 946 deaths


Statewide, another 724 cases in Wisconsin. There were also 51 hospitalizations and eight deaths.

The state has now surpassed 1,000 reported deaths from the virus.

Minnesota is at 1,666 deaths, after six more were reported today.

There were 332 cases and 55 hospitalizations. The case count is the least since there were 315 reported back on June 29.

Iowa data shows 356 new cases and 11 deaths over a 24-hour period. The state does not report daily virus data, instead using a real-time dashboard.
