While the state of Wisconsin had its most COVID-19 cases in a single day, La Crosse County had single-digit cases for the third consecutive day.

Tuesday’s new confirmed case count in the county was seven.

Current hospitalizations decreased by one to five from Monday’s stats, though the county still isn’t updating “new” hospitalizations or total hospitalizations, so the stat is a little vague.

La Crosse has now had 673 confirmed cases, with 122 still active.

The county’s positive test percentage through Tuesday is 4.4. That rate was 1.3 percent back on June 10 when the department started posting the stat.

Of the 618 county cases through July 18, 55.7 percent of them are people in their 20s. No other age bracket is above 10 percent.

The county did add new businesses that are considered high risk for exposure on certain dates. That list is up to six, and includes multiple dates between July 8-16. It can be viewed by clicking here.

Friday, there will also be a drive-up free National Guard testing site on July 24 at the OmniCenter in Onalaska. Info can be found by clicking here.

Trempealeau County added two cases and is now at 243 total, with 54 still active. The active cases dropped by 13 from Monday’s list. The county also listed places of business that were potential exposures, both dated July 11. See them by clicking here.

Buffalo County added four cases. It is now at 29 total with 15 still active. The county also shared potential exposure businesses, dated July 11. That list can be seen here.

Winona County added seven cases and is now at 193 total. No new cases in Houston County, which remains at 33 with two active and one hospitalized. Vernon County also reports no new cases and remains at 45.

STATE TOTALS
Wisconsin: 1,117 cases, 4,194 hospitalizations, 14 deaths
Minnesota: 47,457 cases, 4,723 hospitalizations, 1,548 deaths
Iowa: 39,727 cases, 808 deaths

Statewide, Wisconsin had a record 1,117 cases, along with 65 more hospitalizations — the third-most ever and most since 77 on April 7 — and 14 deaths Tuesday. The state has only had double-digit deaths twice in the past 24 days.

A day after Minnesota had its most cases ever (922), that number dropped to 352 on Tuesday. The state added 45 hospitalizations and three deaths. Minnesota has had single-digit deaths every day this month, except July 2.

Iowa added another 502 cases and five deaths in a 24-hour period that started at 10 a.m. Monday.
