La Crosse County adds 15 cases, announces another National Guard testing site

Another 15 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in La Crosse County.

Of that number, 11 were from Friday’s National Guard testing site, which ran out of its 400 tests with about an hour to go on the schedule.

About 30 percent — 180 of the 593 total cases — are still active, including four currently hospitalized from the county.

Over the weekend, the county health department did not report on cases. It released those figures today and there were 12 total — eight on Saturday and four on Sunday.

The department also announced another National Guard testing site from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. July 24 at the OmniCenter in Onalaska.

In surrounding counties, Winona reported six new cases, bringing its total to an even 150. Buffalo County added four to its now 15 total. Houston County remains at 32 total with no cases reported Monday. There were three over the weekend.

Trempealeau County reported nine more cases today for a total of 187. Trempealeau is also hosting a testing site until 5:30 p.m. today at Eleva-Strum High School.

Statewide, Wisconsin reports 494 confirmed cases, 26 hospitalizations and zero deaths today. The figures announced last hour were from Sunday. The state set a record for single-day case totals over the weekend with 926 on Saturday. That was the third consecutive day setting that record.

Minnesota reported two deaths from COVID-19 on Monday. That makes 11 consecutive days the state has recorded fewer than 10 daily deaths. The number of new cases in Minnesota is 499, with the total now at 42,722.

Iowa shows 460 new cases, three deaths in a 24-hour period that began at 10 a.m. Sunday.
