Covid-19 cases over 20 again in La Crosse County

Another 22 cases of COVID-19 in La Crosse County reported Friday.

The county hadn’t had over 20 cases in eight days.

The total now is 567 with 192 considered active, including four in the hospital. La Crosse County has had 439 cases since June 16, when the first one of 11 consecutive 20-plus case days began.

Of the 22 cases, 15 are aged 20-to-29 and two more are 15-to-19. Four more are in their 60s and the last is in their 50s.

There’s a free testing site at Logan High School today until 6 p.m. for anyone experiencing a symptom. The wait time a few hours ago was 45 minutes.

Monday, a free testing site at Eleva-Strum High School from 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. You have to be over 5 years old and either have a symptom or have been exposed to someone that had the virus.

In surrounding counties, Winona added three has three cases and is now at 136. Vernon County remains at 39, Houston at 29 and Buffalo at 11, after reporting no new cases Friday.

Statewide, Wisconsin added single-day record 845 cases and five deaths.

In Minnesota, the state reported five new COVID-19 deaths Friday, including a person in their 90s in Olmsted County.

There have been 100 Minnesota deaths in the last 17 days, compared to 108 deaths just in the last four days of May.
