Two-car crash on Hwy. 16 sends one to hospital with severe injuries

A multiple car accident closed both lanes of Highway 16 near Viterbo Fields around 9 p.m. Saturday.

The La Crosse Fire Department was on the scene for the two-car crash within minutes, and had to rescue one person trapped in their vehicle with severe injuries, according to the report.

One they were able to get that person free, they were transported to the hospital.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
