No new COVID-19 cases in La Crosse, as state’s daily death toll remains in single-digits

La Crosse County reported no new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday.

It remains at 47 confirmed with 37 recovered and one still hospitalized.


STATEWIDE TOTALS
Wisconsin: 12,687 cases, 467 deaths.
Minnesota: 17,029 cases, 748 deaths.
Iowa: 15,347 cases, 378 deaths.


No new cases were reported in Vernon (12) or Trempealeau (11) counties.

Wisconsin reported 198 new cases of COVID-19 and eight deaths. The state has gone four consecutive days with a single-digit death toll and eight of the past 10 days.

The state did only receive 3,933 test results the past 24 hours, which is the first time that number was below 4,000 since May 11.

Of those infected in the state, 16% end up hospitalized at some point. In Minnesota, that number is 13 percent. Iowa does not report total hospitalizations.

Minnesota reported 657 cases and 17 deaths — 13 of those being from those in senior-living facilities.

Of Minnesota’s total death toll, 608 have come from those in long-term care facilities, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.

No new cases were reported in Winona or Houston counties.

Iowa reported its most deaths in a single day from the virus, at 28, along with 392 cases. The previous high in the state (18) has happened twice in the past eight days.

Almost 5 million now have been infected worldwide, and over 324,000 have died.
