As I See It

Is it too soon for more help?

When people are hurting there is a tendency to want to help. We have seen that amid the outbreak of the coronavirus. The federal government has passed four pieces of legislation that provide financial help to individuals and businesses. Now some say it is time for a fifth. Democrats in the House of Representatives plan to vote as soon as Friday on a new, $3 trillion aid package which would provide money to help cash-strapped cities and states. It would also provide hazard pay to essential workers, and provide a new round of cash payments to American citizens. With unemployment claims continuing to increase, there is no question people are hurting. But is it really time for another $1200 check? Many people who are eligible haven’t gotten their first check yet. How can we know whether the first stimulus is even working yet? The bill also contains money to continue the $600 weekly boost to unemployment benefits, adds more money for food stamps. The package also contains more money for the Payroll Protection Program, money for the U.S. Postal Service , money for police and federal prisons, and more money for hospitals. Such federal help may be needed. But shouldn’t we wait to see? Let’s give the first four bills a chance to work before we rush into passing a fifth.

all that bill is, is an election year trick. Its a simple strategy. You just propose legislation a large portion of your supporters want knowing that the other party will not allow it to pass. Then you simply say we really tried hard to get this legislation passed we know its really needed we wanted you to have it. But the meany opposing party wouldn’t vote for it . Simple effective deception.
