Usually, the Cameron Park farmers market opens May 1 in La Crosse.

But, as the coronavirus has forced countless cancellations and postponements in 2020, the Cameron market is no exception.

The La Crosse Farmers Market Association has postponed the opening of the Cameron market to May 15.

The association urges people to shop with local farmers, as a way to help those growers continue to make a living.

When it does open, hours will be 4 p.m. to dusk on Fridays. The weekly Cameron Park market sessions are scheduled to last through the end of October.

A La Crosse County market at Riverside Park is supposed to begin late in May.

Other markets at Bridgeview Plaza and at Festival stores in Onalaska and Holmen all have starting dates after Memorial Day.
