The company plans to stop at river ports in seven states on the Mississippi, and La Crosse is their only scheduled Wisconsin site at this time.

Past Viking passengers have been able to book cruises on the Mississippi since March 30th.

The big ships will also make stops at Dubuque and Red Wing.

The ‘Viking Mississippi’ ship will carry nearly 400 passengers, and make its first cruise in August of 2022.

La Crosse city leaders have been working on plans to expand riverboat docking areas at Riverside Park, to provide more room for Viking and other cruise lines.
