UW-L postpones spring graduation

UW-La Crosse already has cancelled regular classroom instruction for the rest of the semester, conducting classes on-line only.

Now, because of COVID-19, the university is postponing its spring commencement, which had been scheduled for May 16th.

Chancellor Joe Gow says spring graduates will receive their diplomas by mid-summer.

The postponement of the ceremonies is a reaction to government orders banning large gatherings for now.

Gow says he hopes that an in-person celebration of graduation can be scheduled on campus sometime after mid-May.
