Plan to demolish La Crosse bowling alley gets more time for discussion
The future of a La Crosse bowling alley could be determined in the next four months.
A city committee is granting a developer 120 days to work out an arrangement with the planning department on replacing South Lanes with a Caribou Coffee outlet.
The bowling alley and its pizza restaurant on Mormon Coulee Road have been on the market for more than a year.
The building appeals board has been asked to consider how close the coffee shop could be located to Mormon Coulee, because the road is also part of Highways 14 and 35.
The owner of South Lanes has told customers that no change in the property would happen before summer.
