Still time to cram before tomorrow’s test

Wisconsin voters won’t go to the polls to cast their ballots in the presidential primary until early April, but another vote is scheduled for Tuesday. Voters statewide will be invited to the polls to participate in one statewide contest — a primary race for a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. In some locations, there are primary contests for other races, including the Mayor’s race in Onalaska. Typically, voter turnout is light in spring primaries. But it shouldn’t be. They’ve made it pretty easy for people to cast a ballot. Early voting and absentee voting are becoming increasingly popular each election season. Many municipal transit systems offer free rides to your polling place. In Wisconsin, even if you are not currently registered to vote, you can easily do so at the polls Tuesday with an ID and some proof of residency. Some likely don’t bother to vote in elections such as these because they don’t know enough about the candidates. But it doesn’t take much time on the internet to do a little research to determine which candidate best suits your views. There is plenty of time to do so before the polls open. Tuesday’s election may not be as sexy as April’s presidential contest, but it is still important to take time to cast a ballot. So, if you haven’t yet done your homework, there is still time to cram before tomorrow’s test.
