A driver in Vernon County faces his 5th OWI charge after knocking over a power pole in Genoa.

Fifty-eight-year-old Steven Majeske of De Soto lost control of his pickup on Monday afternoon, and struck a pole on Trussoni Lane.

The utility pole broke near the bottom, and it left electric wires hanging low.

Majeske was not hurt.

Vernon Electric had to be called to the scene to fix the drooping electric lines.

Majeske’s 4th OWI conviction was 14 years ago in Milwaukee County, when he was sentenced to seven months in the house of corrections.
