The man accused of killing Javier Hall in La Crosse last fall doesn’t have a lawyer yet.

Shavonte Thompson has not been assigned a defense attorney, because of conflicts of interest.

Thompson was arrested this month in Peoria, several weeks after 18-year-old Hall was shot near La Crosse’s Copeland Park.

Thompson is not listed as a La Crosse County jail inmate, but court records suggest he is still in custody under a $1 million cash bond.

He did not appear in court during a brief hearing on Friday, and there could be added security for his next court date on February 14th.

Thompson appeared by video link from the jail during a previous hearing.
