Central grad to make debut with La Crosse Symphony
It’s a holiday homecoming this weekend for a La Crosse native making a career in classical music.
Bobby Levinger will perform on piano with the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra this weekend, during its “Holiday Romance” concerts at Viterbo.
Levinger is 23, and just graduated from Central High School five years ago, and says he didn’t have a long-range plan to become a concert pianist.
“My goal was always to just become a better musician, and you know, I just always loved the music and that’s taken me to wonderful places,” said Levinger.
The 23-year-old musician is working on two graduate degrees at the University of Michigan, and has earned honors at state and national music contests.
The Symphony performs its holiday concerts this Friday and Saturday night.
