New heroin charge facing La Crosse man busted for drugs in June

A La Crosse man already waiting to be tried in a drug case from this summer is facing a new heroin charge.

Lavon Liggins was jailed in La Crosse on Monday for allegedly dealing heroin. 

The 38-year-old was one of two arrested in June, after police found heroin, ecstasy and a handgun during a search at a 4th Street apartment. 

At his last court hearing for the June arrest, Liggins still had not found a defense attorney, and later bonded out of jail.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
