Board could decide on arena seat color, groundbreaking for $42 million Center renovations

The arena seats in the La Crosse Center could be a little darker, after the building renovation is completed in the next couple of years. 

The La Crosse Center Board could take a vote Monday on a recommendation to install charcoal gray seats in the main arena. 

The new color to be chosen by the board would replace the original red and purple seats, which have been at the Center since it opened in 1980. 

The board may also set a date for the groundbreaking on the $42 million remodeling, with the ceremony expected sometime before the end of the year.
