Towns south of La Crosse are expected to start the week with new snow.
Forecasters say the snow Sunday night into Monday is likely to stay south of I-90, with less than an inch predicted between La Crosse and Prairie du Chien.
Heavier snow is more likely near Madison.
That snow could be followed by the coldest weather so far in the season, with wind chills below zero possible.
On Saturday, the temperature in La Crosse rose above 40 degrees for the first time in five days, a day after getting down to 9 above zero.
