La Crescent will lose a medical clinic in November.

Mayo Clinic Health System has announced that it will transfer services now offered in La Crescent to its clinics in Caledonia, La Crosse, and Onalaska.

Michael Morrey, a regional chair of administration with Mayo, says the decision to consolidate La Crescent programs with those in other cities was “difficult.”

Moving the services from La Crescent to other sites “will provide our patients expanded care team access,” and will help the company provide health care “more effectively and efficiently,” said Morrey in a news release.

Staffers of the La Crescent clinic have been told about the decision, and patients at La Crescent will be contacted in the coming weeks.

The clinic there will close on November 22nd.
