Lake Hallie shooting leaves 5 dead, two injured

The total victims deceased include two adult females, two adult males and one juvenile male.

The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department responded to the call of a shooting incident in the Village of Lake Hallie on Sunday, July 28.

When law enforcement arrived at the residence, they found the bodies of an adult male and female. Two other adults had gunshot injuries and were taken to an area hospital.

Deputies went to the residence of one of the deceased in the Town of Lafayette at 2:30 a.m. to make contact with family when they found three other deceased gunshot victims.

The same shooter is suspected in both homicide investigations and is among the deceased, according to the sheriff’s office. The total victims deceased include two adult females, two adult males and one juvenile male.

The sheriff’s office said residents are not in danger.
