Sometime Tuesday afternoon, the Mississippi River could crest again in La Crosse, about three weeks after the last high-water mark.

This would be the third crest on La Crosse’s riverfront since April 1.

The river went up about one-tenth of a foot overnight, to 11.3 feet Monday morning.

The newest prediction for a crest is 11.6 feet, where it could level off for a couple of days.

Upriver, the Mississippi also continues to rise in Winona, coming closer to the 13-foot flood level.

La Crosse’s high point of 14.5 feet in early April makes this year’s flood one of the 10 highest on record in the city.
