Fire official facing porn charge will leave job in June

The La Crosse fire division chief accused of keeping images of child pornography on a computer will leave the fire department in just over a month.

June 22 will be Frank Devine’s last day employed by the city, under a separation agreement that was given the OK by the city council Thursday night.

The agreement was actually signed last month — not long after investigators learned that an online image of child porn came from a home computer used by Devine.

The fire department veteran will remain on administrative leave until his departure date.

His criminal case is still in La Crosse County court.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
