Bicyclist in La Crosse gets a ticket, after he gets hit

A bicyclist got hit by a car in La Crosse over the weekend and then got hit with a ticket.

William Miller was riding a bicycle around 1:30 a.m. Saturday at 3rd and State streets.

Police say the 40-year-old was riding his bike at high speed and entered the intersection when it was flashing red.

A car driven by a Chicago woman was traveling within the speed limit as she approached the intersection, which had a flashing yellow light in her direction.

Miller was hit by the woman’s car and suffered a head injury.

He was ticketed for ignoring a traffic signal.
