Go fill up, gas could hit $3 a gallon by weekend

Gas prices have risen in La Crosse over the past month. But even at $2.84 a gallon, you may want to fill up today.

That’s because pump prices are likely to rise in coming days, and could top $3 a gallon by the weekend, according to industry analysts.

The national average for a gallon of gas is currently $2.87.

The average price in Wisconsin is $2.83, but according to gasbuddy.com, at least one Wisconsin gas station is already selling gas over $3 a gallon.
