Aquinas now says a weapon was brought on campus by student

Aquinas Schools officials are now saying a weapon was brought onto school property last week.

An email sent to parents Thursday stated that a weapon was brought onto the Aquinas High School campus last Friday and a student made verbal threats.

Other students then reported the behavior to officials and police were called.

The e-mail goes on to say that school leadership is examining their response to the incident and said some changes may be made to better communication.

The student will not be returning to school.

Aquinas Schools president Ted Knutson said earlier this week that the report of a weapon appeared to be a rumor.
