A comment by a student at Aquinas High School led to police interest and, apparently, some rumors.

Aquinas Schools president Ted Knutson told WIZM that a student made a comment to a friend, which led to someone calling police to the high school Monday.

Knutson said reports that the student might have had a gun appear to be rumors, but La Crosse police are still looking into the matter and the student was not in school Tuesday.

There was no disruption of classes on Monday as a result of the incident.
