Sewer break causes problems near Pammel Creek

The city of La Crosse is warning pedestrians to stay away from an intersection near a sewer line break.

The break was reported early today in the Broadview Place area, near River Bank.

People living near Pammel Creek also are being warned to avoid contact with the water in the creek, because sewage is going toward the creek.

When the pipe broke, untreated sewage under pressure was forced to the surface, and ran to storm sewer basins that lead to Pammel Creek.
