Man making threats with machete arrested in Trempealeau County

An Arcadia man who allegedly threatened his neighbors with a machete could be charged with reckless endangerment and meth possession.

Police arrested 33-year-old Brandon Ottum on Tuesday, after bringing a K-9 officer to Ottum’s apartment.

Officers from Arcadia, Independence, Trempealeau County and the DNR were called to the scene.

The threat led to a lockdown at a nearby Catholic school.

Ottum has a few felony cases on his record…most recently, for being a party to a meth delivery in 2015.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
