‘Live Mighty’ is proposed as ad slogan for La Crosse

People in the La Crosse area may soon be encouraged to ‘Live Mighty.’

That’s an advertising slogan being recommended to La Crosse’s Downtown Mainstreet Incorporated by consultants who have spent two days in town this week.

South Carolina consultant Ben Muldrow says the word ‘mighty’ appeals to him as a convenient association with the Mississippi River.

A goal of the branding sessions conducted this week was to find a common promotional theme that DMI can use with other local agencies such as the Chamber of Commerce and the convention bureau.

Several institutions in La Crosse include the bridges in their corporate logos, but Muldrow notes that other symbols of the area could be used as well.

Muldrow has recommended a design scheme highlighting four colors in a circle, which could be used to replace the letter ‘O’ in La Crosse.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
