Arson suspect from Sparta now jailed in Michigan

A Sparta man is jailed in Michigan, waiting to be brought back to Wisconsin to face several charges, including arson.

Brian Zillmer was arrested Saturday at his grandparents’ home in Calhoun, Michigan.

Zillmer is suspected of setting fire to a house in Little Falls last week. He reportedly was seen in the Melrose area the next day, but avoided being captured.

Police believe Zillmer tampered with an electronic monitor he was wearing after being released from the Sparta jail.

He had already been charged with burglary, theft, and meth possession in a case filed in December.
