Candidates for vacant La Crosse County Board seat are interviewed

When La Crosse County has elections for its board, often there isn’t more than one person to run in each district.

A lot of of people from the town of Greenfield, however, are interested in filling a vacant board seat right now.

Six candidates for the 27th District seat were called in for interviews by the county board at a special Tuesday night meeting.

Former supervisor Tina Wehrs has moved out of the district, opening up a seat.

A recommendation made after the interviews is expected to be put to a vote at the Dec. 10 board meeting.

Whoever gets the seat will serve until the next regular board election in the spring of 2020.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
