County inmate charged with battery after attack on another prisoner

An alleged fight between two La Crosse County jail inmates leads to a battery charge against one.

Thomas Hamilton Jr. is accused of battery against prisoner Dano Waller during a confrontation on Monday.

Waller claims Hamilton passed gas while walking near him in the jail, and he complained to Hamilton.

According to jail video, Hamilton charged at Waller and hit him three times in the head, causing redness to his ear.

Hamilton is 47, and was convicted in August of battery to law enforcement.
