Thousands are already working on enrolling in Minnesota’s state run health insurance exchange.

Today begins open enrollment in non-group health plans on MNSure.

Open enrollment on the exchange website began at 7 a.m. Thursday.

In just a couple of hours, 11,000 had checked out options on the site.

MNSure enrolled 535,000 for 2018 and could top that number this year. Just 12 states operate their own exchanges.

In 2019, individuals earning up to $48,560 a year, or a family of four earning up to $100,400 a year, could qualify for federal tax credits on MNSure.

Open enrollment on the federal run exchange also begins around the nation today.

Open enrollment ends on Dec, 15 for 2019.
