FEMA is now ready to provide help to Vernon County residents who had flood damage late this summer.

A Vernon County disaster recovery center has opened today on State Street in Westby.

It will be open six days a week, probably until shortly before Christmas.

People who want to apply for disaster relief will have to register by computer or phone before stopping in at the center.

More recovery centers are expected to open soon in other area counties which had severe storm damage.
