Registration for heating assistance is now open for people living in La Crosse County.

“They look at your household size, your income and then your fuel usage,” Tom Miller, economic support supervisor with La Crosse County Human Services, said. “Those are pretty much the main factors that are looked at to determine your benefit amount.”

Miller says extra benefits could include weatherizing your house, a service that would be done by the state.
