The state supreme court spends a day in western Wisconsin, taking “Justice on Wheels” in a continuing outreach program.

Justices have led a day-long session in Sparta, to hear oral arguments in three cases to be decided in the coming months.

Chief Justice Pat Roggensack opened the Sparta event on Friday with some compliments about the new Monroe County justice center, which she calls a “marvel.”

Roggensack also noted that school students would be attending the Monroe County court session. She hopes that there might be “a few judges born,” if young people are inspired by the experience.

Area attorneys were invited to introduce each session of oral arguments, explaining what issues were at stake during the legal debate.
