Western five-year plan centered around student success

A comprehensive five-year plan is focused on better helping students.

Western Technical College announced “Experience 2025.” The plan, which was developed over the last year, builds upon the previous five-year plan.

Western president Roger Stanford said they’re going to start by being less selective in the admissions process.

“We are going to accept every student, every day and our college takes on some of the students that other colleges won’t take,” Stanford said. “This plan is about helping those that maybe need a little push, trying to give them the skills necessary to take some of those great jobs.”

Stafford says they also hope to expand their partnerships with business and K-12 partners.

Born in Decorah Iowa. I've been a news reporter for the last 10 years, starting right out of college in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
