Regents approve $49 million UW-L fieldhouse plan

A $49 million project for University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is among the construction plans approved by the UW System board of regents Thursday.

The regents gave the OK to four projects that will be funded by fee increases, which were approved by students four years ago.

The list includes the new field house, which would feature track and soccer competition areas.

The new building would allow space at the Mitchell Hall athletic building to be used for wrestling and gymnastics.

    Don’t forget to mention that once “approved by the Board of Regents, the 2019-21 capital budget request, part of the UW System’s FY 2019-2021 biennial budget request, will be submitted to the state’s Department of Administration in September. It would then be considered as part of the governor’s executive budget, which is typically released in February. The State Building Commission will make a final recommendation in March.”. So, we’ll see if the State approves these projects to move forward…unlike in past years.
