July sees sales, prices higher for La Crosse homes

No signs slowing in the La Crosse area housing market.

Numbers just released by the Wisconsin Realtors Association this week show a hot July for home sales locally and statewide.

July home sales numbers show a nearly 16-percent increase for La Crosse County over the same month last year.

The report also shows another uptick in prices.

A median home sale price for the county is now pushing $190,000 — 12 percent higher than last year.

Median price statewide for homes is about $183,000.

Sales in La Crosse County for the year, so far, have increased by more than 1 percent over last year.

The Realtors group said a strong economy and record unemployment, along with continued low mortgage rates continue to fuel the market for homes locally and statewide.
