La Crosse woman arrested for OWI after found passed out, waiting to pick up son at school

A La Crosse woman was arrested last week for operating while intoxicated, after passing out in her car outside Hamilton Elementary School.

The 40-year-old was called to pick up her child just after 10 a.m. last Tuesday.

The principal noticed she hadn’t moved for 20 minutes and realized she was passed out.

Police were called and she failed field sobriety tests. She told officers she had taken several prescription medications. It was her first offense.
