The 24-year-old man suspected of firing shots into a crowd in downtown La Crosse is now being charged with attempted murder.

Isaiah Stenson, Jr., was charged with reckless endangerment shortly after the shooting on near 3rd and Main intersection just just after midnight Sunday.

Stenson hasn’t given police a reason as to why he fired a gun, which he claims a friend gave him at the scene.

One man was shot in the arm and a second had a minor abrasion.

The second victim says four shots were fired, causing people in the crowd to start running.

Prosecutor Jessica Skemp said in court Monday Stenson was identified quickly by security video after the shooting. Stenson was traced to a car that was stopped around 2 a.m. by police.
