Human leg found on Mississippi River south of Lock and Dam No. 4

A human leg was found just south of Lock and Dam No. 4 on the Mississippi River this weekend.  

The Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office, which continues to investigate, says more information on the leg could be release after a medical examiner’s report is concluded.

The leg — from the femur to the foot — was found with a shoe attached in a debris pile about 20 feet from shore on Saturday afternoon.

There was no other human body parts nearby. Another search was conducted Sunday and, again, nothing was found.
