Area rotary clubs plant 300 trees in 90 minutes, help hit goal of 1 million trees planted

They set a goal of planting 300 trees in one day and met that goal pretty quickly.

Members of two La Crosse area Rotary Clubs spent Saturday morning planting pine trees at Camp Decorah near Holmen, as part of a worldwide challenge from the president of Rotary International.

Jodi Widuch, who heads La Crosse’s Downtown Rotary, said her members planted 300 trees in only 90 minutes. The local clubs have about 260 members, and the challenge was to plant one tree per Rotarian by the end of June.
