On Twitter, Abraham seems to suggest La Crosse judge recall

Recall a judge?

In response to the sentence handed down by La Crosse Circuit Court Judge Elliot Levine for Dylan Bartsch last week, La Crosse assistant police chief Rob Abraham suggested this on Twitter.

“As I have repeatedly stated our ELECTED judges hide behind the supreme court rules when its convenient…Is ANYONE shocked that LEVINE sided with the criminal? The only part of the “system” that failed this innocent girl was the JUDGE and his pathetic sentence. RECALL!”

Levine has said, under Supreme Court rules, he cannot explain the five-year sentence given to Bartsch in the brutal death of the Winona man’s 3-year-old daughter Audrynna in 2014.

Abraham has taken to social media repeatedly to criticize judges for lax sentencing and bond conditions. This, however, is the first time the assistant chief appears to be calling for a recall of one of the judges.

    I would appreciate it very much if someone can direct me to an explanation for, and under what circumstances it is permissible for a judge to not have to explain their sentencing.
