Shelter in place order on Friday afternoon at Onalaska Middle school over weapon in locker

A shelter in place order for one local middle school today. 

Onalaska middle school had to deal with a potential threat this afternoon after reports came in of a gun in a locker. 

School and administration and police found the gun.  It was a pellet gun that was confiscated. 

One student was apprehended and that student’s parents contacted.  They say that student appeared to be acting alone in bringing the weapon to school. 

After a search, they determined the middle school was secure and students were released at the normal time.
