County board unanimously votes to raise sheriff’s pay by 10%

No dissent among La Crosse County board members on bumping up the sheriff’s pay.

At a meeting late last week, the board voted unanimously to approve pay increases for both the sheriff and the clerk of courts.

Both are set to receive increases totalling about 10 percent over the next four years. By 2022, the sheriff’s salary will have jumped from $109,000 to $120,298 and the clerk of courts will get a raise to $86,666.

The raises are similar to what had previously been approved for the next two years for the register of deeds, county treasurer and county clerk.
