Gas receipts left in abandoned stolen car lead police to ID suspects from security footage

Driver still at large, while passenger was just released from jail

A bit of detective work over three months, and a suspect leaving gas receipts in the stolen SUV, has led to auto theft charges against a La Crosse woman.

Tkaylah Roraff is accused of being the passenger in an SUV after it was stolen from outside Our Corner Bar in La Crosse back in August.

Grady Corcoran is suspected of stealing the SUV and putting around 1,000 miles on it. He has yet to be found.

But, about two weeks after the theft, the SUV was found abandoned in Winona County, along with multiple gas receipts left inside.

Police used those to go back and look at security footage to identify both Roraff and Corcoran.

Roraff has been released from the La Crosse jail and is ordered to have no contact with Corcoran or the victim of the theft.

The SUV was apparently abandoned the same day a Trempealeau County deputy saw it and chased the driver.
