YMCA event raises $20,805 for cancer survivor program

Second annual Riders for Survivors even bigger than first.

In year two of the Riders for Survivors, the La Crosse Area YMCA helped raise $20,850.

Seventy-five people participated in Saturday’s tri-state motorcycle ride through Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa.

Money for the event goes to the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program, which is designated for cancer survivors and taught by cancer survivors.

The program, which raised over $17,000 last year, is a free 12-week course with cancer exercise specialists. 

While taking part, family members also will be able to use the Y for free.
