Wisconsin recount ordered to continue

Count is 82 percent complete, though only 47 of 72 counties are done

A federal judge dismissed a request from Donald Trump’s supporters to halt a recount in Wisconsin on Friday.

Judge James Peterson’s ruling in Madison will let the recount, requested by Green Party nominee Jill Stein, continue.

Stein initially requested the recount to determine whether election machines in the state were hacked.

The recount is 82 percent complete with 47 of 72 counties reporting in numbers and barely moving the final vote tally at all in the state.

Trump defeated Hillary Clinton by more than 22,000 votes in the state on Election Day. Clinton had gained 61 votes in the process.

Oddly one candidate picked up dozens of votes that didn’t count on election night. That candidate: Independent Evan McMullin, who received 47 more write-in votes because of the recount.
